Tamarind Art is an art gallery that exists to promote awareness for Indian Contemporary Art and has maintained an integral role in that for the past two decades. The collection began with a passion for European Art in the early 90s and acquiring major European artists’ paintings and sculptures. While our fervor for European art persisted, we found a blend of European influences and Indian history in one set of artists in particular, known as the Progressives Artist Group. Through this, our passions expanded into Indian art through modernists and contemporaries, and we acquired new mediums, such as miniatures, rare posters, etc.

The collection spans major European masters, Indian miniatures, modernists, and contemporary voices. It continues to expand through acquisitions and collaborations, always seeking work that challenges perception and defines the evolving story of art.
